Jeff Hightower is a national leader in defective firearm and hunting accident cases. A gun enthusiast and safety advocate himself, Jeff has successfully resolved cases against gun manufacturers for more than thirty years. Jeff has tried or settled more than thirty cases against Remington Arms Company for defects in its 700 series bolt-action rifles. After Remington’s bankruptcy, Jeff successfully obtained permission from the court to seek $100,000,000 in insurance coverage for a woman whose leg was amputated below the knee after a bullet from a Remington bolt-action rifle shattered her lower leg. The case is currently pending. He is also presently involved in the tragic case arising from the Uvalde, Texas School Shooting.
Jeff has handled many hunting accident cases, some of which involve gun manufacturers, and some of which do not. Often, hunting accident cases are caused by negligent gun handling or by a landowner not taking appropriate steps to provide a safe hunting environment.
As a national leader in product defect cases, Jeff has also successfully prosecuted cases against automobile and other manufacturers. Some examples include:
Jeff is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Legal Specialization and in Personal Injury Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
