Investigation Begins Into Crash Of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17

After several days of what can only be described as chaos, it seems that the investigation into the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 may finally be moving forward in a positive direction.

Facing mounting pressure, pro-Russian separatists agreed to turn over the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the doomed plane to Malaysian officials. They also agreed to allow Independent international investigators to have safe access to the wreckage. Now the big question is whether and to what extent evidence key has been destroyed.

USA Today reported today that the plane’s cockpit had been sawed in half using a diesel-powered saw. It also reported that workers stated that the largest intact piece of the plane, the rear portion, had been tampered with as well.

Pro-Russian separatists have denied firing the missile that brought down the plane, instead pointing the finger at the Ukrainian government. But obvious questions remain. Why destroy and remove evidence? Why hamper the investigation? But, at least for now, the investigation seems to be underway.
