American Airlines Flight 280, en route from Seoul, Korea to Dallas, was diverted and made an emergency landing today in Japan following severe turbulence. The turbulence was the result of a powerful winter storm that has been intensifying over the area. American Airlines has confirmed the diversion.
The airplane involved was a Boeing 777 with 240 passengers and 15 crew members on board. News reports indicate that four passengers and one crew member were taken to a local hospital, and a number of others were injured but were treated at the scene.
